FAQs : SYNTHETIC WIGS
1.Why is the product expensive compared to other ready to wear wigs?
Ladyline is the ready-to-wear wig product of HEADS by Volu-med that is made of high grade and quality synthetic fiber that looks natural and feels soft. The cost of the piece also depends on the length, style and hair color.
2. Is it specifically made for cancer patients?
Ladyline is not specially made for cancer patients, it is basically a standard accessory in fashion runways in Europe; HEADS by Volu-med however, finds it a perfect fit as instant solution to address the needs of cancer patients who look for readily available hair after their chemo therapy session.Â
In hope that their hair will grow back after recovery or the process, Ladyline is seen the best product to provide to patients as a temporary solution to cover their bald heads.
3. How long can I use it?
Ladyline products lasts for 6-8 months, however, based on records, HEADS by Volu-med has not encountered any customer complaints about “defective” units months after they have purchased. Most of the reasons why the same customer would buy a new piece is to change its hair style, not about defects or anything related for the customer to not like the hair piece. We can say then that the quality span is 1-2 years depending on the frequency of use and the manner the unit is cared for.
4. What will happen after a year of consistent usage of the wig?
After using it for so long or more than one year, there will be visibility of hair loss , discoloration and even base material (weft or lace) tear or damage. If these happens (hair loss and base material damage), HEADS by volu-med can service/ repair/ recondition the unit for a maximum of 4 weeks at a certain fee. With use of proper care products, discoloration has never become a customer issue for our Ladyline Synthetic Collection.Â
5. Is it too warm when worn?
The Ladyline products have breathable base caps that allow the circulation of air. Sweating is normal depending on how long and how strong the heat is outdoor/ indoor.
6. Will it cause me itchiness?
Ladyline base/ cap material is hypoallergenic that is why it is relatively unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. If skin allergy appears after wearing the Ladyline product, please consult your dermatologist and return the unit in proper condition the following day for a refund. Any day after that, the unit will be inspected and will be subject for scrutiny to consider refund; HEADS by volu-med may ask for medical record stating that the cause of the allergy is from wearing the Ladyline product.
7. What if I want to cut it?
It is fine to have the Ladyline wig to be re-styled if necessary (trimmings, layers, fringes, etc.) as long as your existing hairstylist is confident to style and cut wigs. We recommend that customers seek the services of our own in-house hair stylists trained to handle and style hair systems and wigs.
8. Will I be exposed to other people to see my hair loss condition?
HEADS by Volu-med has a private room that the client can make use of if they feel uncomfortable to join the salons’ regular clients in the service or common areas. It is likely that the stylist will need to remove the hair wig from your head for shampooing thus the offer to use the private rooms.
9. How can I style it?
Perming and curling iron is an acceptable equipment to style your hair pieces. In applying heat to the hair units, please ensure that the wig is dry. Maximum of 80C heat is allowed to apply on your units; if you feel that its already too hot, lessen the heat and increase again as desired; you can use hair sprays and other hair styling products used for natural hair to style your unit.Â
10. How to care for it?
- Use only Bergmann hair care products specially made for wigs with synthetic fibers (also available for wigs with human hair)
- Wet the wig, lather the shampoo or conditioner and leave for about 3-5 minutes then rinse, damp using clean and dry towels.
- Do not wring, squeeze and hang like a cloth, use the wig stand to dry the unit.and allow to air-dry. Use the same head stand why you are not using your unit.
- Use only the special hair brush instead of tooth comb to style wig. Brush gently to prevent the hair brushes from being stuck in the wig’s cap/ base; if this happens, gently remove the hair brush and do not force to brush all the way to prevent hair fiber breakage.
